The purpose of these courses is to produce competent entry-level EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and paramedics who can provide the highest level of out-of-hospital care for the sick and injured. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible for National Registry testing and certification. This credential leads to EMS licensure or certification in Virginia and most other states. Employment opportunities for EMTs and paramedics are available with ambulances, fire and rescue services, hospitals, and local, state, and federal government agencies, and applicants for these positions remain in high demand.
