CourseGraphic This course is designed to train those who will be actively involved in designing or supervising temporary traffic control in Virginia work zones. Students are taught concepts, techniques, and practices in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices specific to the Commonwealth.

Additionally, students will be taught legal aspects of temporary traffic control, installation and removal procedures, flagging procedures, and other considerations such as pedestrians, nighttime work, and urban areas. Several workshops included in this course provide hands-on experience in analyzing and designing temporary traffic control set-ups for various real life situations.
