This three-part class will provide an introduction to sUAS, as well as regulatory requirements for commercial use drones.
The class will be held in an indoor facility, participants will learn flight planning and be able to identify the area of interest, mission planning and execution. Step by step training from unpacking, readying aircraft, preflight, flight and post flight will be conducted. Participants will perform basic maneuvering in all modes -- lift off, hover (multirotor), fly to a point, return from a point, etc. Advanced maneuvering in all modes -- circle a point, fly to point --> identify --> return and report, figure 8s, small area touch and go’s, obstacle avoidance, etc. will be conducted. By the end of the sessions, participants will have learned deployment of aircraft, incident command interaction, establishing safe operating area, mission identification, flight planning for operation, execution of mission and post flight handling of data, incident command reporting, etc.
